So there's a 1 in 10 chance he will be as successful as Alex Zhamnov.

I dont care what each one looks like, if he’s shooting 26.6% he’s lucky
So he was lucky in swe tier 2 and shl as well?
Maybe he has the most accurate shot in the league.

Your posts in here has been nothing more than trolling, congrats.

I am tired of reading 4 pages of your garbage arguements that pettersson is lucky.

Pettersson doesnt have a single empty net point yet.

All this talk about shot percentage, do I need to remind you that Petey has missed 11 games, plays on a horrible team, and still has as many assists as Kotkaniemi has points? And Kotkaniemi is a great rookie in his own right. Let that sink in, kid's going to be one of the best in the game for the next decade.

That may very well be true, but people are going to keep bringing up his shooting percentage as long as some others retort with "Nah, he will be the one player ever to go against the statistical truth that is unsustainable shooting percentage. You just don't watch him." It's very bothersome to say the least.

He's a great player having an impressive rookie season. He's also riding a high shooting percentage that will drop. These are not conflicting statements.

Make a statue of this kid and the people of Vancouver would embrace it. Pettersson will be the greatest Canuck of all time. More dynamic and skilled than Bure.

-Cannon slap-shot
-Deceptive and accurate wrist shot
-Excellent speed
-Excellent passing
-Elite offensive and defensive awareness

Canucks fans cant shut up because we literally cannot see a single flaw in this kids game. It does not matter that his shot% will decrease because we know he will put up insane numbers.

Really dont care if this annoys some fans. This is the most excited most Canuck fans have ever been about a player. Get over it.

Sure its more than likely his shooting percentage will drop. But that is irrelevant unless people are saying he isnt a 40 goal scorer for example.

He does have flaws though.

Hes not a very good hitter. He doesnt appear to be able to fight. His post to post movement is slow and his glove hand weak. Etc etc etc

What matters though is do his strengths outweigh his weaknesses. This is true of any player.

So frankly talking about his weaknesses seems largely irrelevant at this point unless there is a glaring weakness.

Granted, Daigle was a legit 18 yrs old at the start of his rookie year, but in an super high scoring era he scored in a full 84 games just 1 point more than Pettersson has through 45 games.

No player needs to be able to fight, and particularly not Elias Pettersson. It's not a flaw.

Not many people actually claim that though. Cut his shooting % in half and he'd still have a 10 point lead over the next guy despite 11 missed games. The point is he's a fantastic young player.

Just because his shooting % will drop it doesn't mean his 25 goals don't count though, they're his goals and most are real beauties at that. That's like adding a bunch of ghost goals to a player just because his shooting percentage is low.

He may have one of the most accurate shots but if you are implying that this will
Be even with a big drop off he’s still going to have the highest % for a career if he keeps it up. There is no question he’s getting lucky or fortunate.

He has good linemates and gets plenty of ice time on a bad team. That’s usually why rookies score a lot in the first place. If he’s playing behind the twins he’s not scoring that high.

1. Horvat gets 20+ min average ice time.. Ep40 gets 17+min avg ive time. Why isnt that effecting EP40?

2. So a Power Play consisting of Hall of Famers and argueably the best passer in this generation (Henrik Sedin) and you dont think Pettersson would have more points this year?
A powerplay that just went 2 for 28 and is ranked 7th worst in the league.

Sedins made Burrows a 35 goals scorer and Kesler a 45 goals scorer 1 year but apparently Pettersson would score less if Sedins are on the team.

Can you post the goals he’s scored you think are lucky?
