Lindholm easily.

Kapanen is riding the hottest streak of his life playing top minutes with Matthews. 7 of his 8 points have either been assisted by Matthews or assists to Matthews. And Matthews is having a generational hot streak, and I think Matthews is easily the second best player in the NHL. Unless if Kapanen can do this for full seasons its easily Lindholm. And even then lindholms ppg is higher right now..

Lindholm underachieved a bit in Carolina, i've always liked him and think he's as close to a complete winger as far as players without elite talent goes. I said in the summer his trade gave me the Steen vibes when Alex was traded from Toronto to St. Louis and he had multiple 50, 60 point seasons since then.

That said it's probably close. It's hard to judge what Kapanen will be able to do offensively on a year to year basis. But for now i don't want to pass on Lindholm for Kappy.

Lindholm. Always been a fan of him. Back during the Duchene rumours he was a piece I always wanted to be involved if he was dealt there.

Lindholm, easily. He's a really well rounded player who seems like he's still underachieving at 45 points. Kapanen has a lot to prove before he's the better player here.

Clearly Lindholm. But Kapanen looks like he might end up being a solid complimentary piece for Matthews. Though it's a very small sample size, so we'll have to wait to see how that unfold through the rest of the season and beyond.

Well, now that Kapanen actually produces it has to be him beyond a shadow of doubt. His actual skillset is a lot higher-end, he's just about the fastest skater there is(or very close) and he has great hands. When he was younger, he had serious attitude issues and work ethic problems, but now he seems to be one of the harder working players around. Linholm on the other hand is a fine player who has potential to be a middling 1C, but he just doesn't have the standout attributes that Kapanen does.

The guy who can play centre, RW, PP, PK, score on any line you put him on and seems to be finding another level. Lindy not close right now.

Besides the center thing nothing else you said matters. Kapanen is a great penalty killer on our team as well. He doesnt get power play minutes and still has 8 pts in 5 games since joining the top line. His overall linemates even on the top line are worse then lindholms(Matthews is the best of either player but gaudreau and Monahan both are much higher caliber of players then Marleau). I still take lindholm but only b/c he has proven to be a 45 point player in the last while kapanen is just starting. Going forward they can both be 60-65 point wingers with good defense. Lindholm has a sick contract and will be interesting to see what deal kapanen gets if he keeps up this level of play all year.
