I expect Toews to sign with the Hawks as well.
Agreed. I think he's ready.
I heard Smyth signed too.
(All you Eklund lovers... relax.)
So...if Toews signs between now and August like everyone else knew for the last 6 months or so can "E" claimed to have "called it"?
He can't, but he probably will.
Local news just said he has not signed and will make up his mind soon.. Said he wants to talk it over with his mom dad and his teammates. He also said this will be the hardest choice he has ever had to make.. Guess we'll know soon..
Toews and Kane...Nice combo over in Chi-town!
You never know with Toews. He started by saying he will play for Tri-City when they drafted him the following year as a 16 year old, then he said he would be commited to them as a 17 year old, before deciding to go the college route. Maybe he will pull that with Chicago. Isn't it if he plays all 4 years at North Dakota can he sign with who he wants.
It is not true. Toews is certainly more than ready, but he has not yet decided whether to sign with the Hawks.
He has not, however, made that decision. Hockeybuzz.com falsely reported today that he has signed, citing sources in Canada saying that it was a "done deal."
I got off the phone with Toews a little bit ago and he was surprised to hear about the report. After seeing it for himself he said, "Jeez, I can confirm that's not true."
Do you really think this would happen?
poor E getting owned every time
So I guess we can count on Toews returning to North Dakota then...
sure hope so.....
I dont trust Eklund, but next year Toews will wear the indian head
So this means Toews has retired then.
"e5 Smyth Signs"<--I think that sums it up.
Its a question of time..in hours or days it will be released...
Considering the Sioux also have an indian head as their logo, thats probably a safe bet
I do think he'll be with the Blackhawks next season, though.
So I guess Toews is returning to college then.
Its more of an inclination than anything... certainly not because Eklund is reporting it.
If Eklund said it, I would be really worried as a Chicago fan. The guy is 99% wrong in all his speculations, kind of...
But still, it would be surprising if he in the end doesn't sign for the upcoming season.
Ek pulls a lucky one out of his butt...
