Mr Simms said today that its cheaper to sign a lockout player at the moment than to sign an ECHLer. Take that as you wish.

Tom Sestito arrived today in Sheffield and has pricked the media's attention. Look North have been filming with the Steelers today and Calender are doing so tomorrow. Hopefully a nice little bit of press.

Dave Simms also said that no team would win the league with a British netminder and "Pecker will be the best player in the league".

There is a reason why he is known as 'DS the BS' by many who follow British hockey.;)

Like I said, take it as you wish.

Although as much as he runs his mouth, I'm more inclinded to believe him on this one.

Oh and guess which Panther CN is talking about here - "He skates well and is a huge wall of muscle."

From small town or maybe medium city NB to big city UK. Whatever you want to call a Metro population of 140.000.Toronto calls it the boonies :)
Nice to hear the NB accent
Good Luck/Bonne Chance Bruce...........hey we're an officially bilingual province (in the Canadian constitution) in an officially bilingual city

Finnerty is a terrible coach.
Fife are good though, knocking on the door of a top half finish in the league I reckon. 6th at worst and look for them to make a big playoff upset.

Looking forward to tomorrow, lol at Beleskey splashing out on such a modest car. Will be interviewing Schutte for On Fire magazine after the game, can't wait. Genuinely good guy.

Think Flyers will struggle for consistency, much like Braehead, due to their lack of depth. Great result for them though after a tough season last year.

The jury is out on Finnerty, but he finished above Nottingham, Cardiff and Coventry in his rookie year and is still above Cardiff and Coventry after a poor spell.

After laughing and saying the Steelers had signed just a goon, Sestito scored on his debut last night and got a Gordie Howe hat trick in 2 periods tonight against Belfast. :yo:

Drew Miller's always looks like an old grandad who really shouldn't be playing to me.

As if to prove your point they lose 5-2 to the Caps.

As much as the Steelers have really stumbled of late we have still taken 3 out of 4 points against Nottingham and 4 out of 4 against Belfast. We're like Nottingham of previous years, winning against the big teams and stumbling against other teams.

The season is shaping up to be very interesting with the conferences.

Hull will miss Bowns if he's picked, which he should be.

Belfast will miss Christensen as he's the assistant.

Tbh I think it'll mostly be the same sort of squad going as the one for the WC's.

Belfast, Nottingham and Sheffield aren't playing during the international weekend.
