Too close to call. Was eichel a month or two ago but AM34 has been insane since mid December. Been elite in all 3 zones.

I strongly believe you can win a cup with either of these two as your number 1 player. Both are gonna be in the convo for 2nd best player in the league for the next decade(along with 5-6 other players).

I'll keep matthews since we drafted him and got to see him grow as a player since day 1. However there is no wrong answer between them.

I still remember when Sabres fans said their rebuild was well ahead of the Leafs after Eichel was drafted and they had traded for Ryan O'Reilly. So it's not irrelevant that Matthews has been on winning teams and Eichel has not.

I guess you forgot that Matthews scored 40, 34, & 37 goals the previous 3 seasons when Mitch Marner was not on his line at 5v5.

It wasn't even until December 21, 2019 that Sheldon Keefe put Matthews and Marner on the same line at 5v5, so not all of Matthews 40 goals this season were because of Marner.

Them refs just dont like calling penalties whenever the Leafs are at home. Also, Babcock loved giving PP time to the 2nd unit, which "robbed" the more talented AM and Marner the PP time they deserved.

I am not weighing in on the who's better than who pissing match, because I've said my piece before and nothing has really changed on that front, other than BOTH players becoming even better than they were previously. What I will say is that Matthews defensive game is pretty badly underappreciated by many Leafs fans and non-Leaf fans alike.

Yeah that 20 games with Mitch (or there abouts) has really propped up his whole career..... It's like you guys don't even try to be honest.
