I am going with the conspiracy theory stuff. 100%

I’ll admit I’m out of touch with if he does/doesn’t truly need it. But I’m confused a bit. If it’s all a conspiracy and he could heal without surgery why would he want a surgery preformed on himself.

He already wanted a trade out. He's using this injury sour grapes to force it.

Ironically doing that probably will make it harder to be traded

Oh I agree he already wanted out. My stance is he wants traded out before there is any announcement of a surgery and or no surgery. Imagine the Sabres trade Eichel for a poor return and Jack shows up at his new camp all set and ready to go??? Jack had an incredible year and the Sabres get blamed for another ROR return for eternity. Not going to happen.

At what thread number does Eichel get traded? I'm guessing 18

I mean, I actually think Terry and Kevyn got bamboozled a bit by Krueger as to the state of the team. Krueger would maintain that the team was SO close to contending to anyone that would listen.

And ironically, the Sabres could've been a decent team last year like Krueger said, if Krueger wasn't the head coach.

Could have been decent if a lot went right:

-Different coach
- Ullmark stayed healthy
- Jack stayed healthy
-McCabe stayed healthy
- Eichel and Hall wanted to be there (great chemistry also needed)
- Staal needed to perform as an average 2nd line center.

Even with all that, backup goaltending would have been a black hole.

Yeah I guess I'm thinking of an alternate reality where they fired Krueger last off season, making everything that happens after that unknown. That'd set off so many different possibilities that those injuries likely wouldn't happen.

- NHL didn’t force the Sabres to play that superspreader game against a COVID-ridden Devils team that infected numerous Buffalo players and sent a team that started the season playing pretty decent hockey completely off the rails

I feel like this Eichel saga will last for a very long time...

Too bad, he might be holding up a few more trades. Since there is this pending surgical intervention, this isn't going anywhere for a long long time.
