Surprised that Dostal isn't on the team. Out of the 16 Czech players in Liiga 11 are on this team (although Vrhel and Hamara haven't played any Liiga games this season). So Zaborsky, Sulak and Dostal are the only fulltimers missing. I get why Zaborsky isn't there as there are better options and I am guessing that Sulak has some injury or illness, otherwise he should be on the team. Dostal is curious because he doesn't have illness or injury and he's probably the best goaltender in Liiga. Otherwise this looks like a pretty strong team and it will be fun to follow young Czechs like Svozil, Jiricek, Pytlik, Teply, Mysak, Galvas etc. A lot of potential in that roster.

According to one Czech source (media), Dostal was not released by his Finnish club. Others say that NO came from NHL club. So, you can choose ... the coach wanted to see him in action.

I like it a lot.

Dostal got a no so he couldn't go. Parik might be our starter at WJHC.

I was hoping to see Kaut on there

My understanding is that the Czech Extraliga guys will practice with the team but won't be going to Finland. Galvas might eventually crack the NHL... I like his game. 3 years maybe. Surprised Pytlik isn't playing anyhwere?

It would be quite funny that Ilves would let Roman go but not Dostal. Although obviously Dostal is more valuable than Roman to the team.

As I read, there will be no camp in the Czech rep. All guys will meet in Helsinki.

We've had one's with one or none, why would it be a problem?

So is Russia not allowed to play the world juniors team? That sucks if so because that would be pretty fun to watch how they perform against legit mens teams.

Well, Czechs look like favorites to win this one. Just the best top-end players and not having a "camp" is like missing out on what, 2 practices? Won't really hinder them in a substantial way.

At every level the swedes just control and dominate us in such a lovely way. Just methodically tear us apart for 60 minutes.

This game is very strange because we look like we are in the same league as the Swedes which we clearly aren't.

We need to clone hronek... A right handed and left handed version and 10 of them. He makes everything better.

Wow. This never happens. I assume the Swede's sent their F team. Really nice match. I enjoy the Zohorna's a lot more when they're not taking NHL players spots. Pesan with his first win is great. Bartosak back after a mental health break is great. Spacek finally getting some time on the national team is fantastic. 2 goals from the blue line is a miracle for our nation of poor defenders. I do think Galvas might crack the NHL one day. Mysak with a point too.

It all means nothing but I enjoyed it.

Well you answered it yourself. Czechs might not be a match to Sweden but this is basically SHL's B team. Even Nestrasil or Zohornas are something these guys just aspire to be someday at this point, with few exceptions. Not to mention Hronek.
