Just today did i finish watching all the games.

Bristedt, Wingerli, Friberg, Hansson and Backstrom where the only players from Sweden who played good thoughout the tournament.

This tournament clearly shows that a pure SHL squad is not good enough. Need to throw in KHL and NLA players to be competitive on euro level.

Not much mention of the Finland team in this thread (probably for good reason) but would be curious about your thoughts on defenseman Vili Saarijarvi.

There was a bit of enthusiasm when he was drafted by Detroit but he never cracked the Red Wings lineup and Arizona, not exactly loaded on defense, chose not to re-sign him.

Are his numbers in Liiga more an indication of lower competition or is there something to his game?
