Was going to stop in and say the same. I had Tomasino 12th and Afanasyev 15th on my list.

Preds killed the draft.

11 and 14, 12 and 15 are still crapshoot picks. This doesn't change anything for the foreseeable future, we STILL just hope that at least 1 of these picks will pan out.

Sounds like another good pick. It was a little gory there with some of the known names who were on the board at #34... but it seems like Mission Accomplished still getting a good one at #45. Will be interesting if he goes to the OHL next year too.

1. Afanasyev: 3.62
2. Tomasino: 3.03

Those are both spectacular rates. I think they really nailed these first two picks, tbh.

This kid is going to be good. Can it believe we got him at 45!!
Just hoping he does better than two other second round Russians I had hyped about from our past like shishkanov and glazachev.

I think this guy could be the real deal though, glad to see he signed with Windsor in ohl right after drafting him, I wonder if Poile has anything to do with that.

Shishkanov and glazachev. Man. I had high hopes for them too. To think Glazachev was ranked higher than Weber/Klein at one point. He was a dynamic talent in that 03 draft. One of the rare misses.

Yeah crazy looking back at that draft and realizing if we didnt have the (now nonexistent) compensatory pick we wouldnt have drafted Weber...

Yeah, like 3 days of Belfour led to all of that. If these draft picks pan out we could have a "family tree" of Ed Belfour with the Preds that stretches into three decades.
