To be fair I said that this place does have its moments.
I have a couple of posters on ignore too which definitely makes this place more enjoyable.

It has its moments but there is much better control by the mods on this site compared to so many other sites which are filled by all kinds of filthy garbage.

I like the fact that you must have a respectful avi that does not show the disrespect that is tolerated in other well known site(s) around the teams. This includes threats of violence some of which are pretty shocking.

Kudos to the mods like Bryan who keep it in line around here. I wouldn't want their jobs.

Plus they put up with my innuendo filled posts and threads. ;)

o.k. we won't tell him that he looks like Tom Sellick so that he gets a swelled head  but seriously being a mod is like being a bouncer. Drunks show up and start looking for a fight and you are the guy who has the honor of escorting them out. The quicker a site does that then the less often it happens. Reputation is everything and this is a good place to post.

The Esks' new president just unleashed the most significant marketing move in YEARS.

Eskimos Season Seats for just $9/Bi-Weekly (Seriously!)

For a limited time, Edmonton Eskimos season seats are just $99* (+ fees and taxes) from Feb. 20 – Mar. 10. (Apologies for the HTML mess...If a mod can fix it real quick, that'd be great...)

A team that is able to "pick it's opponent"? WTF. What is this, a schoolyard pickup game? I think Ambrosie must have slipped and fallen on the ice and landed on his head.

I think they are just floating the idea. I like the the idea of it being just the first place teams in each division clinching then the the best four records after that battling it out, but I don't like the schoolyard choose your own adventure card. It should be best record for a divisional winner plays the worst record of the teams that win the semi-final.

Once Halifax gets its team, every team will have exactly the same schedule so it will then be time to just pick the best 6 teams regardless. That said, I'd expect the current format would still yield the top 6 teams anyways, it's just that the format creates scenarios where the Eastern teams often draw the lesser playoff matchups.

That said, this choose your own adventure thing seems to be a new way of thinking as even baseball was proposing a choose your opponent scenario in the event they'd expand the the playoffs to 7 teams per league instead of the current 5.

The reality is that teams would likely make these picks off picking the opponent likely to be least comfortable coming to their field/rink/park. Say Edmonton was given the choice of Calgary or Seattle in a few years. Odds are the preference would be Seattle as home ice advantage is likely a bigger advantage with a team where you wouldn't have as many opposition fans in the building, but with the price of added travel.

In football, it would be even greater with it being only one game. If you are Calgary, would you rather make Halifax travel three time zones to play in your building or Edmonton who can get there in a three hour bus ride? That's a pretty huge advantage to give the home team.

With that stay being as short as it was, I suspect he'll want to come back to the CFL as I doubt his season built his stock very much down south. But with the way the HC positions were shuffled this year, I don't think there's likely to be any HC jobs next year for him to take over.

BC - Campbell will be given at least two years and Hervey would likely never go down that road again.
EDM - Milanovich is given at least two years.
CGY - D Dickie has had too much success to think he'd be replaced unless the wheels fall off so far that they miss playoffs.
SSK - C Dickie just got the team to first place in his first year and I can't imagine Saskatchewan would be quick to grab a guy that bailed on them at the last minute last year.
WPG - Just won their first cup in forever. O'Shea gets at least another year after this one.
TOR - Possibly, but I'd imagine Pinball will try to keep a little continuity with the recent coaching caroussel there (this will be the third HC in 4 years for them) and I doubt they'd be able to afford him with two fired coaches on the payroll.
HAM - Steinhauer had one of the best rookie seasons as HC ever. Even if Hamilton falls back a bit, he'll get another year.
OTT - The team was so bad last year, LaPolice should survive one season as long as positive strides are made which should be easy to show considering how bad last year was.
MTL - Jones just delivered their best year in quite some time despite major turmoil amongst the teams management and ownership. He'll get a do-over even if Montreal regresses.

I took advantage of it. Can't beat it. Even bus/LRT are free two hours before and after the games when you show your ticket/pass. I added the option for another 9.90 for a playoff game if they make it.
