Just when you think the NHL couldn't get uniforms any uglier....

Considering how much great concept jerseys float around on social media, I am surprised they consistently put out horrible designs.

I would be surprised they miss out on a lot of jersey sales with these designs.

Edmonton's is a throwback to the Edmonton Mercurys, who won an Olympic gold medal in 1952.

So it's always kind of odd to do "vintage" uniforms and go back to eras before these teams even existed.

Would I want to look at these uniforms on a nightly basis? No I would not. But are they cool as a one-off outdoor game? Sure! I particularly like the fake leather look of the pants and gloves on Edmonton.

Calgary's is okay, albeit objectively worse than their actual away jerseys, but Edmonton's looks like a beer league jersey that used the blank Oilers template with a random crap logo.
