Guys stop saying that Mete is the perfect defence that we need right now... Many experts are saying that he will probably goes to the AHL some weeks if he don't make points in thw NHL. He is a offensive deffense for us not a deffensive one so he needs points. Don't forget that Weber is comming back in less then 1 month so I will probably say YES to the trade. For thoses who say that Puljujarvi is a bust, look at all their prospect in Edmonton, it is the worst team to develop a player so I think he will be good for Montreal... But I would try to modifie that trade before probably more like this :

To Montreal :
Puljujarvi

To Edmonton :
Scherbak
Hudon
Ikonen (2nd round pick in 2017 ) (center)

what a trash offer

Would much rather add to Pulju to try and land Gallagher. Whether Habs fans consider it is a completely different story, but that would be the type of target we’re looking for.

I’m sure we’ll be bombarded with “bust” talk regarding Pulju, but the kid is ultra talented and still only 20. Some guys take a little longer (in this instance, it reminds me of Niederreiter).

Nothing you add to him (realistically) gets you Gallagher. Unless you're willing to part ways with like the #5 OA pick.

... yes, that’s usually how trades work.

If he was available for not McDavid/Drai/RNH/Klefbom/Larsson/Nurse/Bouchard pieces, sure we’d be all over him. But he’s the heart of your team, don’t blame you for not wanting to move him.

But! Puljujarvi isn’t available for whatever you’d pull out from between Bergevin’s couch cushions, either. Puljujarvi doesn’t have top five pick value anymore but he’s a long way away value wise from guys like Scherbak.
i rarely respond to your posts, as your by FAR the biggest oil homer on these boards. But regardless, habs don't need Puljujarvi. So i wouldn't even make the deal. I personally love mete, and believe when he finds his offensive game, will become like krug - with even better wheels. we'll see what happens (and) if Puljujarvi becomes a yakupov. remember when that happened? not sure all his oil fanboys on here ever got accountable for that one. Hope he works out for you. Habs need D-men not wingers. and gallagher, stats wise, has become a 1st line - top 15-20 RW in the NHL. he might become a perennial 30 goal scorer - he's on pace for 40 this year AND he makes 3.7 mill for the next 3 years, through his prime

The Oilers are better off keeping their 20 year old "bust".
Absolutely no room for an undersized LHD with almost zero chance of making the Oilers top 4

Drafting one bust doesn’t automatically mean every 20 year old that isn’t a top forward immediately will be a bust just because he has a funny name too. That’s not how drafting works. What if Scherbak loses what’s left of his value like McCarron? Fear mongering won’t get you anywhere.

Considering the bulk of your offers for Yakupov revolved around trash like Zach Fucale and McCarron it’s just as well that trade never happened. You act like you guys were ever offering something of value and that’s not at all the case.

Mete might be something. He might be nothing. Right now he’s a 15 minute a night defenceman with one point that would not even be on our team. Scherbak is waiver fodder with very little value. You don’t want to move Mete - all good. We’re perfectly fine without another kid to shelter.

The Drouin trade was about adding high end skill to the Habs, the Habs biggest weakness was and still is high end skill. The first game against Toronto showed it, Montreal did everything right but lost because Matthews and Tavares were better in a few brief moments than anything on the Habs.

Ill defend the Drouin trade still, Montreal lost it clean but still needed to risk it.

Has Sergachev figured out how to play D yet?

I would offer Byron for Puljujarvi. Paul is the bet fit to go with 'McDavid by a mile

Not interested, and if Byron mostly plays LW there is a 0% chance he’d dislodge RNH (who’s on a 95-100 point pace since he was moved to McDavid’s LW) from that spot.

Plus no room for another midget winger long term with Caggiula and Yamamoto in the fold, even though I like Byron. Better offer than freaking Scherbak though.

The only things we should be even remotely interested in moving Puljujarvi for is a 2nd pairing RHD, a legitimate 2nd line RW, or a comparable prospect (Dylan Strome, Tyson Jost, etc)

Mike Bossy, Michel Bergeron, Yanick Plante... want more ????

Yes please, 'cause so far you seem awfully short on experts (Yanick Plante!) and high on French Canadian media grinding the same ol' axes as usual.

Let's send Mete down so when Weber comes back... we can keep Xavier Oullet in the lineup. Maybe give a chance to Simon Despres?

Ya our 15 minute a night defenceman has as many points as that winger your highly touting. He doesn't even replace anyone in our bottom six. They all have more pts.

Wow... oilers fans are overating Puljujarvi ! You will never have a first round pick or Suzuki for your ( BUST ) Puljujarvi. You guys are dreaming ! The only thing you will have is 2 3th or 4th line players and a C prospect...
Lol. Dont think we’ve ever had a 3th line.

Whatever, AHL fondler. That must mean that Mete and Juulsen together don’t get Kris Russell since he has four points.

Mete is a no starter esp considering Pulji hasnt shown anything good in the NHL yet. We dont need Pulji as well. We have too many top 9 wingers. IF we were to trade for Pulji it would be for a winger swap.
