This helps Oilers get a solid goaltender in Price (retained) who could really complement a should-be contender team. While Lucic would be gone, in comes Shaw to play the aggressor role. Scherbak and Poolparty need a fresh start elsewhere. Sekera adds good insurance for MTL's left defense (if he still has anything left in him), and Alzner could play bottom-D for Oilers. Also Oilers save cap $.

What is their incentive to disrupt a group that is overacheiving?

Who in that proposed group of Edmonton players would grab Montreal's attention?
