Same exact neighborhood as Nash (7.8) and Lundqvist (8.5), but the cap will go up so it should be a bit less in percentage.

I think that's where his value is. I can look at both of those deals as a Rangers fan and say they're not great, exactly, but you can't afford to not resign players at that level. There aren't too many of them.

I believe the splits go 60% GF with, and 44% GF without? That's an enormous difference.

Draisaitl is a good player but there's no reason that he should be paid this much more than Tarasenko or Gaudreau.

I'd build a team around Draisaitl more than I would want to with those two.

When I watch him, he looks worth every penny... When I look at the underlying stats though, there are a ton of red flags.

I think it's a fine contract, they could move him for a haul tomorrow if they wanted to.

What a silly argument... Toews and Kane didn't win those cups alone. McDavid today is better than either of those players, and deserves more. Drai has a lot to prove.

Those two guys got those contracts because they won Chicago 3 cups. That's the biggest reason they got that big of a contract, it was a thank you for giving Chicago 3 cups.

The contract will be more palatable if he's always stuck with McDavid but that will just continue to reinforce the notion that the Oilers are a one-line team.
