To CBJ: Nuge

To EDM: Bjorkstrand

Both have one year under contract after this, with Nuge being UFA and Bjorkstrand still being RFA. Columbus gets a 2C to help Dubois with matchups, Oil get a high volume shooter who could click with Connor or Drai. Forces the Oil to split the big guns up permanently and try to build 2 good lines. Also frees up 3.5 mil in cap space.

Nuge is having a down year, but I’d hope he’s still recognized as an above average 2C in his prime. He takes all the tough defensive matchups and carries James Neal and whoever falls in to the 2LW spot on that given day (Nygaard/Khaira/Gagner). In a better situation (linemates), he’s a 55+ pt 2 way C.

Thoughts?

yeah, CBJ pass, mainly based on contract and the ability to control Njorkstrands contract after this one.

Nuge just isn't going to make a difference to Columbus' record.

What about something around Anderson. Didn’t he hold out and is an RFA on a brutal season?

Columbus could use a #2 and Anderson with either McDavid or Draisaitl could potentially get him going again and he’s hard to play against.

x - McDavid - Kassian
x - Draisaitl - Anderson

The makings of 2 tough lines to play against

What happened to Nuge? Watched the Pens/Oilers last night and he looks lost.

he’s playing hurt. He’s got a hand issue and it’s affecting his ability to shoot and stick handle. Reactionary and silly by OP.

Honestly the whole team’s confidence is shot and a lot of it is to do with the fact that they know they don’t have a hope in hell when Smith starts.

That depends on the something. The holdout is kind of a nothing issue, so don't expect that to lead to a discount. We're not exactly eager to sell low on the guy. That said, it sounds like RNH is having a rough time as well (albeit not nearly as much as Andy), so maybe there's something. :dunno:

I’m surprised Smith is still getting near a 50-50 split.

What are columbus’s Needs?

If it isn’t defence or hold out wingers we might have a tough time making a deal!

#2C. An elite gamebreaker would be nice, but that's not likely to happen via trade. Defense and extra wingers are basically the last things we need; we're overstocked on both.
