Let's face it, last game was a "perfect storm" for the Canes. If this game isn't close it's likely to be in the Caps favor. Here's hoping that the Canes pull out a close one. And when it gets physical (as it almost certainly will), the players stay clean.

This game could decide the series. Caps win, they have a stranglehold on the series going back to home ice.

If the Caps win this one I think this is done in 5. Canes and their crowd will be amped. Lots of passengers so far in the Caps bottom six this series. I hope some of them wake up. First bourbon of the night has been poured.
I don't have faith in Carolina's ability to come back in a game, now sans Svechnikov and Ferland. Washington will be looking for the kill early; if the Canes can weather the storm and get the first goal, I like their chances.

Must game for Carolina. Don't want to have to win 3 straight, two of them on the road.
For the Caps, a loss just evens things out and makes this a best of 3 series with two in DC. But a bad loss, anything like Game 3, is a different story.

Should everything work out nicely I would rather the Bruins play Carolina than Washington too.

Decide the series? That seems overly dramatic. If the Canes win...even if they stomp the Caps...it goes back to DC with a best of 3 and the Caps have home ice.
If it's one thing I'm sure of it's the Caps are not a momentum team when it comes to playoff series. For them it's about buy-in. Either they strap in and do their jobs, even when they've looked terrible to date, or they phone it in, usually with a lead. So far they've been phoning it in about half the time and still have a 2-1 lead.
It took them a few games to show up last year vs CBJ so look out if they find that same gear.

Momentum game to game doesn't exist. If the Hurricanes win it means they held serve, if the Capitals win, it means the Hurricanes have to win two in D.C.
