I had an idea to help get sync'ed. This timer starts counting up when it hits game time. There are other sites that do this too.

Countdown Timer

Since people join late and may have to interrupt their video, we'll need:
  1. What time to start the YouTube video.
  2. When, in EST and YouTube time, the first period ends.
  3. When the 2nd period will start (1st end + 10 minutes) and what corresponding YouTube time that is.
  4. When the second period ends.
  5. When the 3rd period will start and what corresponding YouTube time that is.
Intermediate times will likely be needed.

Last night it would have been something like:
  1. 7:10PM EST start.
  2. 1st period ends at 7:54PM EST and at 44:10 of YouTube.
  3. 2nd period to start at 8:04PM EST and at 46:00 of YouTube.
  4. 2nd period ends at 8:39PM EST and at 1:18:00 of YouTube.
  5. 3rd period starts at 8:49PM EST and at 1:18:30 of YouTube.

Dumb question... do we want to skip our losses? Or in this re-watch do we watch our losses, too?

I'm DREADING Game 5 ECF.
I'm not sure, I go back and forth. I don't love the idea of watching 8 losses but I wonder if skipping will mess with the continuity/immersion. Maybe we can find a compromise and do something like post links to condensed versions of the losses. I'm good with whatever everyone decides.

I think that would be very helpful. Nice job.

I also found this site that says it does group watching of youtube vids. I haven't had a chance to tinker with it yet. Anyone used it before?

I don't think it let's me Chromecast... :\
That was my first thought, I'll probably keep watching on Roku and just sync manually. Might be a good for some people though.

That is how me and my friends watch films together, there is a countdown then we GOOOOOOOOO. Has worked for 10 years
:D Sounds good to me.

I'm thinking more of ways to make it easier for people to sync if they join late or get interrupted. Though last game worked pretty well as is.

personally i'd like to keep up even with the losses (perhaps a condensed version, if they can be found, i'm not THAT much of a masochist) simply to stretch the whole thing out. at least we know those losses didn't actually kill us in the end, and who knows how long this hiatus goes
