Series Talk: ECQF: Florida Panthers vs Tampa Bay Lightning (FLA leads 3-1)

Definitely seems like the type of series that could come down to which goaltender is in best form. They've both had phenomenal runs, but they're also both older and Bob has always been wildly unpredictable in what you'll get at any point. Vasilevskiy feels like age is potentially starting to catch up to him, but you never know...playoffs could wake him up and it's hard to argue with the pedigree in general. Though if he gives a Leafs series type performance, that'd be problematic for Tampa for sure.

No one is complaining about a 1 power play difference. This isn't complicated

Florida is the best 5v5 team in the league. Lightning are by far are the best at special teams. One team has a vested interest in no penalties being called.

And these teams are naughty. Florida was 2nd in the league in penalty minutes, that is ~13.5 minutes per game. The Lightning are 5th, ~11 minutes per game. These teams especially dislike each other.

This was not a clean game, but got called as such

That game wasn’t remotely called evenly. Calling something with less then a minute and trying to say it was one call less is a joke and shows ignorance and or you didn’t even watch the game and just looked at the scoreboard.

We didn’t play well and our stars were attempting to be like the Leafs I guess. Cooper got worked as well. Just wasn’t the best game at all but it is only one game. Come out and even the series next game.

The 2 worst calls of the game both benefitted the Lightning lol. I haven’t even seen anything specific pointed to in all the ref complaining there. Just a general sentiment of being upset that they didn’t generate 5-6 powerplays off their 10 shots the first 50 minutes

I will say I do expect Tampa to try to make it a little more chippy next time out and/or get Kucherov to pull the diving antics a little earlier next time

How tf are dolt fans crying about the refs? Doucherov is the king of diving and holding a stick to get a hooking call. They let go of several penalties for both teams and let them play, the obvious being the too many men for the Lightning, as well as the dive on the Verhaeghe penalty.

Agreed, the multiple holding of the sticks, the non call on the too many men, and the weak cross check goal. Panthers had to fight the refs and the TB. But we are good enough to overcome that. Even without 18 million in LTIR.
