I mean blaming the 4 players who haven’t played a game together seems pretty unreasonable doesn’t it?

Blame the players on the ice, not the players who aren’t playing.
:skeptic: Are they like some sort of mechanic components that can’t function without each other?

But dw, if they lose they will just change the coach and bring back everyone as usual

MLSE runs a talent show not a sports team

The big 3 are: Nylander, Matthews, Marner. They have yet to play a full game with all 3.

You adding a bunch of names to the list doesn’t make it any more special. You might as well name the whole roster at that point.
Awesome…add this little tidbit to the excuse pile of reasons the Leafs are losing this series.

Here’s a thought for you. Maybe just maybe, Boston is the overall better team and all the excuses/reasons the Leaf fans can conjure really doesn’t matter because the Leafs were never as good as the Bruins.

Boston was in the running for another President’s trophy all year until the final 2 games while the Leafs never sniffed at it all year. Have some perspective instead of excuses.

The “other players” added have a combined $19M cap hit

And cool are you saying that Matthews/Marner or Matthews/Marner/Nylander for 2 out of 3 periods aren’t good enough to win?

That sure doesn’t bode well for the Leaf’s future now does it.

Pastrnak hasn’t played a single game this season with a Matthews or a Marner or a Nylander and yet look where the Bruins are….

when i was feeling less than my best, i drank half a bottle of pepto bismol and did my job.

of couse in this case, him playing or not playing is really the same difference.
I don't think your job likely involved taking hits to the abdomen that could force an undesired expulsion.

Cut the guy some slack , at least he's out here battling for his team , everybody else is hiding , guy battles more on here than Mitchy and Nostrils on the ice , I respect it

You realize the Leafs are the lower seed this series right?

They were the underdogs completely healthy. Take away key players and that’s how you end up down 3-1 for the underdogs.

Keep Matthew's, Nylander, Domi, Bertuzzi. Trade Marner/Tavares. Get a real #1 D and a legit 2-way Center(should of kept O'Reilly) and see then make it to the finals..... oh and a half decent Goalie.

They shouldnt blow it up but you can't have 4 soft elite players.

The number of Leaf fans that looked at Boston on paper and shitered/laughed/gloated about how 'bad' that team was and that they were 'lucky' or 'the league's darlings that did no wrong' or some other shit that is making this even more delicious.

Leafs finished 5th in the East and 10th overall. Their fans still act like they’re some juggernaut.
I expected Boston to beat them with their below average goaltending and weak D. But just like every year it’s the core who let them down. I thought their core would at least give it their all and go to the dirty areas more.
Same old. Same old. I don’t think replacing Keefe with some other guy when the core still calls the shots will make any difference.

Boston was the favourite before the Leafs lost Nylander for 4 games. Losing Nylander just made them heavier favourites.

Zach Hyman -6 goals. TML- 7.

Every year someone lights the Kings up for more than a goal per game though.

2 years ago it was Kane. Last year it was Draisaitl. This year it’s Hyman/McDavid. Next year it’ll probably be Nuge. The year after it’ll probably be Foegele.

The Kings suck against the Oilers. Easiest possible matchup for the Oilers.

Does Boston not spend to the cap? Boston would have to lose other players if they wanted to fit more players under the cap.

In return for Pastrnak not having Nylander or Matthews. He gets to shoot at Samsonov.

Sportsnet NHL Insiders 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs Predictions - most picked the Leafs

2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs 1st-round predictions | NHL.com - Pretty even split there as well

Stanley Cup playoffs picks: Every first-round series, plus Cup champion, Conn Smythe Trophy - pretty even there as well

So that would be incorrect. The Leafs weren't some massive underdogs like Florida, the teams are fairly even.

I’m talking about the odds.

That’s with Nylander, the odds changed after Nylander got injured. All those predictions were made thinking Nylander was healthy.
