Edited this in the series thread right as it got locked down...
Do you think the Pens are trying to dump the puck more towards Karlsson's side and forcing him to constantly "play 200 ft"? It seemed to me last game they were really looking to have him go back and dig the puck out of his corner, lay a body on him, and force him to move the puck and have someone else start the rush, leaving him back to defend. I noticed this late in the game, but it may have been only a couple times and just a coincidence and I'm putting 2 and 2 together to get potato.

Why is Pittsburgh always the most injured team in the league? It's been like this for 5+ years.
Ottawa has the LD step up in the NZ to create that 1-3-1 system, meaning it's typically the RD (Karlsson's side) that's first on the puck on any dump in. That's not to say that the Pens aren't trying to do what you suggest as well, I hadn't noticed myself, just that it's not unusual for Karlsson to be first on the puck anyways.

I think the realistic answer is luck. Lots of bad luck. Some of our injuries are: Cancer, mumps, stroke, blood clots, Lyme disease, etc. I mean... that isn't some poor planning on our fitness team. That's just unfortunate luck.
And at the same time, we've been a very fortunate team.
Nerves starting to kick in.
Spent a decade hoping we could make it this far again, only to remember how stressful it could actually be.
I'm surprisingly calm.
Honestly, winning last year takes a lot of the edge off. With all the Pens have had to deal with medically this year, I'm happy they've made it this far. Anything beyond this is gravy.
