IMO the Rangers should have beaten the Devils last year. They couldn't solve Schmid who is a lesser goaltender than the Caps guys. The Rangers best players did not play to their skill levels and abilities. They'll need to this year if they're going to get past this series and beyond.

Was more them getting away from playing disciplined in Games 3,4 and 5 and Gallant doing nothing about it. They put 5 on Schmid in Game 6

The Rangers aren’t very fast and they don’t have a relentless forecheck which are the Caps’ Achilles Heels. The Caps could and maybe will get dusted but this isn’t the worst matchup for them.

Rangers got in trouble when Devils decided to stop playing the Rangers game and utilized their significant speed advantage. Caps don't have that luxury.

We've been through too much to have any confidence as fans. Even a franchise best regular season and a historically bad opponent means we have an exactly 50/50 chance of winning this one.
