It's basically a tie between the Piles, Wings, and Flyers...

Of those three, I'd say the wings have the best chance of making it if Hank and Pavel stay healthy.

If not, Flyers and Isles will be damn close...

EDIT: Forgot about the caps too... they may be close to a wildcard spot, though I don't suspect they'll get very far.

I think Washington is being overlooked here. Though they overpayed for their defensive improvement it should go a long way.

They not only overpaid, but they overpaid a legitimate liability in Orpik.

I'd be surprised if the Caps are anything but a bubble team at best next year. I think they'll finish bottom-10 overall.

You're neglecting the level of improvement they have behind the bench. I don't think they're a lock for a better finish than last year, but Trotz makes them a bit of a wild card.

It's funny how Islander fans think they will catch up and overcome the Rangers this year. Our GF-GA was +25, theirs -42. That's a 67 goal difference, almost a goal a game. But I'm sure they'll make it up with their wonderful new acquisitions [eyes rolling].

I know this is disappointing to everyone here to think about, but the Devils will be a playoff team, and could end up ahead of Montreal or Columbus even.

The Devils being a playoff team, I kind of agree with.

Overtaking CBJ or even Montreal? Nah.
