To CBJ:
Brian Rafalski

To DET
Anton Stralman, CBJ 2nd

Realistically, the CBJ needed a puck mover and a point producer. Not getting as much time in Detroit, Rafalski seemed like a legitimate answer to the question, even if he has turning 38 this season. The Jackets jettison what turned out to be a major disappointment most of the year in Anton Stralman, and a 2nd pick. Having Rafalski along to tutor some of the younger dmen will be an added bonus.

CBJ are still seeking a possible center, including moving up in the draft.

Confirmed on Detroit's end.

Rafalski is a tough loss, but it opens up cap space. We feel Stralman can thrive in Detroit's system.

Columbus confirms the Colorado deal.

Moving Jake was a tough decision. But with Liles coming back to Columbus, we finally have a defense to be proud of. Wingers are easier to find and produce than quality dmen.

Columbus is still on the market for picks and prospects, and most importantly a Top 9 forward or moving further up in the draft.
