Didn't know where to post this so thought it may deserve it's own thread. Devastating earthquake going on in Turkey at the moment. Many are trapped in the rubble including some members of Hatayspor's director and Christian Atsu.

Yeni Malatyaspor goalkeeper Ahmet Türkaslan is also missing.

Prayers go out to everyone. The buildings in Turkey don't really look all that well structured, which could explain the high amount of victims already. :(

Didn't realize there were that many players there.

From a Canadian perspective, Adekugbe has confirmed that he is safe.

Unconfirmed that Atsu has been found alive but injured. No news sources, just a few Twitter reports of radio stories.

Dude rode a building collapse and lived!!!

I live on the top floor of a condo, but Ohio isn't exactly brimming with fault zones.

They've had 2 large earthquakes in the last 24 hours and a big aftershock as well.

7.8 last night. 6.5 aftershock 10 minutes later, then a 7.5 9 hours later.

Thoughts and prayers, this is terrible

I lived in Turkey for a year so I was really shocked when I saw the news
A really pretty underrated country with immense history. Everyone tours the western part, but I found the eastern part just as beautiful with the country and mountain side.

Turkey is my favorite country next to Spain

When we were living there, not once did visiting Greece cross our minds

In fact, Turkey has everything Greece offers and more; I would only go to Greece to visit Olympus and Acropolis.

But Mykonos and stuff are more marketed.

Pamukkale and Capadoccia were pretty awesome

Then and there
RIP.

I read he had already bought tickets out of Turkey to France (because lack of playing time) before the earthquake hit, but decided not to board the plane after scoring the winner in the match that day.
