I know there are more interesting tournaments coming up in near future, but how would you contruct the teams taking into account the recent standing in NHL and best possible players from Europe?

Tournament will take place in Finland in two separete cities Helsinki and Tampere. The two groups will be playing their premilinary games in either one of those depending on the group. Home crowd of course attracts Finnish players dispate the Olympics or perhaps even because of it. Maybe it will attract players from other countries as well, especially those who didn't get the Olympic spot.

Group A in Helsinki
Italia
Canada
Kazakstan
ROC*
Germany
Slovakia
Switzerland
Denmark

Group B in Tampere (New arena)
Great Britain
Latvia
Norway
Sweden
Finland
Czech Republic
USA
Belarus

Luukkonen
Lankinen
Säteri/Olkinuora

Where is it this year? Sometimes that helps a foster. In addition, looks like no NHLers at Olympics (but I still cling to some hope).

Both those might improve the rosters a little.

There is also the contract situation to have in mind. And if NHLers do go to Olympics, its small chance any of them shows up in WC.

With that in mind:

Lars Johansson
Magnus Hellberg
Adam Reidenborn

OEL - Adam Larsson
Simon Edvinsson - Christian Folin
Henrik Tömmernäs - Lawrence Pilut
Tobias Björnfot - Lukas Bengtsson

Rasmus Asplund - Alexander Wennberg - Nils Höglander
Gustav Nyquvist - Jacob Petersson - Andreas Johnsson
Oscar Lindblom - Anton Lander - Mathias Brome
Carl Klingberg - Gustav Rydahl - Dennis Everberg
Pontus Holmberg, Fredrik Olofsson

Yep, i dont think Wennberg/OEL/Larsson is making OG.

Looks like Finland so that would possibly be a plus for some NA players.

It’s gotta be a place where the older guys can take their families safety, the younger guys to take their beautiful girlfriends who need insta selfies, and for the single young guys to pick up chicks and party.

Finland fit the bill?!

Yeah. Its like a safest place on earth and in general people are treated very well no matter where they come from. Not sure if we have enough good looking places for insta selfies though...

GB won't be much different, injuries notwithstanding.

We'll miss Liam Kirk so much, though I expect Scott Conway to (finally) join the team and pick up much of the slack, I just don't know if it'll be enough. Swindlehurst has retired, but Steve Lee will probably take his spot and that's an upgrade. Players like Jordan Cownie and Josh Waller are also putting together a case for selection over some of the bubble players from Latvia.

Yeah Finland is a bit boring but a lot of nature, fresh air etc. Also the downtown of both Helsinki and Tampere are worth exploring.

Yeah this tournament, IF COVID & omicron/delmicron/whatever variant fades into the background in spring I think will have higher participation rates than usual, but might just be wishful thinking. Finland is also reasonably attractive to go to.
