Well, the off season will be slowing down now, so I'm curious as to what everyone thinks of our current players going into next season. So here are my questions:

1. Biggest slump/ disappointment.
2. Player who elevates their play / biggest leap in production?
3. Fan favourite.
4. Worst (so far) offseason acquisition.
5. Lost player who lights it up elsewhere.
6. Dark horse prospect who makes the team.

My Answers:

1. JVR
2. Nazem Kadri
3. Komarov / Kadri
4. Frattin finds himself on the fourth line.
5. Colton Orr :sarcasm: I think Gunnarsson will do well in St. Louis.
6. Josh Leivo

  1. Rielly - sophomore slump
  2. Gardiner - able to play solid 20+ min per game, and good on PP.
  3. Gardiner - reason above
  4. Robidas - breaks another bone
  5. Riemer - becomes a starter on another team
  6. Biggs - just because of his size

Another prediction. The we make the playoffs, 5th in the EAST.

2. Gardiner
3. Gardiner
4. Komorav (drops to 4th line and everybody realizes he's nothing special)
5. D'Amigo surprises everyone in Columbus
6. Josh Leivo

Season prediction - missing the playoffs with a whole lot of getting outplayed, out-shot and out-possessed.

biggest slump/disappointment = kadri. he will get his offensive numbers but they wont be good enough to justify his poor defensive play. i know some people think phaneuf or bozak will disappoint but imo they are both established enough and consistent enough that what we see is what we will get. i fully expect bozak to put up 50 points and hopefully be close to an even +/- player and i expect phaneuf will put up ~30 points and hopefully will be a + player.

biggest leap in production/leap imo is clarkson. he cant possibly do worse then last year and if given the chance he has a lot to prove. i think he will be determined to hit 50 points for the first time in his career.

worst off season transaction = none. considering we only brought in polak, frattin, robidas, and komorov there isnt much to be upset about.

lost player who lights it up is a toss up between franson if he is traded or kulemin. i think if kulemin ends up in pittsburgh playing with malkin it could be fun to watch.

my dark horse to make the team is nylander and finn. both are very young but extremely talented. given the amount of roster spots open so far and the seemingly minimum amount of talent i think both could possibly be rushed.
