Weber has a good shot and is good in our end but he is not going to significantly move the needle for this team in either direction. We will hear, character, compete, man mountain and so on but Weber is mostly a simple short pass, positionally sound old school type of defender. This team needs some speed and skill from the back to be a complimentary piece for a guy like Weber.

Petry, Mete, Reilly and Juulsen can do that work.....Weber will stabilize what happens in our own end, guys who were taking on the best line will now be taking on the second best line, and consequently the guys who were facing the 2nd best line will move to the 3rs best.....and there’s a player here who was on the PP who maybe wasn’t suppose to be there is being replaced.

Needless to say, we need upgrades on 2 LHD’s

What stupid timing for a game. The team with the biggest fanbase and you put it at a time when the majority of their fans are working.

Not only that but I assume half of Buffalo’s fans are probably in Canada too. Idiotic.

Agreed! This is why we should try Petry on the Left side. Cost us nothing. Trade Benn for a pick or send Alzner to AHL. Does Bergevin have the guts to send Alzner down... we will see. Reilly or Mete with Weber. Petry with Juulsen. A much better top 4D.

If Alzner is not sent down, Mete is the logical choice. I want to see more from him and if he is struggleing in the NHL, allow him to work on his game in the AHL.

We need to tank to a top 10 pick before I start wanting the off season to come. Hope those posters who said we were getting a top 5 pick for sure are right!
