I don't think SKA and Dynamo fans hate each other that much, Dynamo and Avangard fans hate each other much more. But still I would agree that it is the second biggest rivalry now in KHL simply because they are each other's main opponents and their games generate as much interest as Salavat Ak Bars games if not more. It is not a rivalry based on hatred that much but still heated rivalry.

Avangard-MMg rivalry is older than AkBars-Salavat.
IMO, playoff series Ava-MMg in 2004 when Jagr scored coast-to-coast goal in OT in the last game was one of the best ever

"Some hatred" = second best rivalry?

and may I ask what history did the great rivalry of Pittsburgh vs Washington have aside from meeting of Ovi vs Crosby and Malkin on ice? :)
Let's be honest, in hockey the tradition is that whatever is interesting at some moment, it is a rivalry. Minsk - Riga will always be rivalry due to history, Riga - SKA games are always tough after our win in play-off some years ago, even this year when Dinamo Rīga sucked everyone remembers this:

Riga - CSKA is also a rivalry due to history, Riga - Moscow Dynamo mostly due to Znaroks coaching them (also it's the ''same club system = both teams being Dinamo/Dynamo stuff though I don't think anyone cares in modern times)...

Though I'd say everyone wants to beat SKA, so for every team meeting SKA could be a rivalry :D:D:D

Omsk vs Vityaz? Dead players...career ending injuries...massive brawls? Come on now.

It surely was #1 unless Vityaz stopped icing a goon squad. Not so much anymore.

On topic, I think yes. Historic rivalries are history now, and everyone hates SKA.
