How can you say it's not even close? Both play on their team's top lines, Monahan has slightly better support through his career, but not much. They are very similar talents.

larkin doesn't play with anyone like gaudreau. without gaudreau monahan doesn't produce the way he does

I like how you discount Larkin's talent like he's just another Darren Helm.

Even I wouldn't stoop that low . I'm sure there are more standout moments for Wings fans but around the league I mostly know him from that and his impressive rookie season. Monahan is already the Flames' franchise leader in GWG at the age of 23.

Think both these players have a lot of productive seasons in front of them, and by the time they hit UFA will be considered all around great 1Cs.
