Nice. Why not? Ducks need as many possible assets as they can possibly acquire. Maybe he plays well and we can get a pick for him next deadline. Or maybe he plays well and we keep him.

maybe he sucks and we lose nothing. I like it

Here is a highlight video from 2 seasons ago. Looks like a lot of powerplay points, and he has a pretty nice one timer.

Not only did he lead his team in points, but he had 12 more than any other player even though he's a defenseman. He also led his team in PIMs.

Love it. Low risk. Can play in the AHL/terminate his deal if he doesn't stick it with the big club.

Looks like he plays right side a lot from the video

No risk. I’m skeptical he has the defensive game to consistently play in the NHL but even if he doesn’t he can easily be sent to SD to help them.

After his 2+PPG playoff in Norway he will forever be a legend here, so big congrats to him on an insane career trajectory.

Big fan of this signing. SHL MVP and DPOY! The Ducks never get good players in free agency and a top-tier Euro almost never chooses Anaheim. He can play alongside a defensive defenseman for best results most likely. He probably spends most of the season in the A with a Hankaapaa-like stint at the end. But he makes the team out of camp and pushes Maura down that may make Josh expendable.

I would argue Mahura is the least expendable of all our young LHD, as he is the only one who is waiver exempt

According to Swedish media Curran had to buy himself out from his KHL deal, 20 million rubles (close to $285k) out of his own pocket.
Good sign of him being really eager to prove himself and explains the one way deal.

Ducks setting up some nice healthy competition for those D spots. I like it.

I’m willing to bet he gets a really long look on the PP. He could be exactly what we need there.

Yes but he’s already 23 and hasn’t made his mark on the NHL level or impressed management. I like him but it seems that the Ducks are replacing him with Djoos and Curran

Mahura literally just turned 22, he’s a whole year younger than Guhle and Larsson. There’s still plenty of time for him.
