Longest damn week I've ever seen.

Why would someone spend premium prices to pick up a #1C only to play him on the wing? Makes no sense. :shakehead

See Staal, Eric.

Since when is a pair of 2nds a "premium price"? If that's all COL wanted, then sure that makes sense. But Duchene would cost a lot more then that (and a lot more then what Staal was moved for), thus making it unlikely that someone is trading for him to play him as a winger.

Would the Pens even trade Matta realistically?

DRW will take him.

For a RHD that fit the system a little better? Maybe. But short of that, no probably not. And certainly not for a forward. Especially after we lose 2 of our top 3/4D.

Why would the Pens do this? They're playing well, and their D corp isn't exactly the deepest. And they're not exactly in the need for forwards.

You don't create a weakness to strengthen a strength.

Hard to force this one to happen, but imagine that offense for the Penguins. Find a way to trade for Jagr assuming the Panthers are out of it and I would join that bandwagon is a second.

Duchene - Crosby - Jagr
who cares - Malkin - Kessel
who cares - who cares - who cares
who cares - who cares - who cares
