Loved Duchene when he was with the Avs. He was Mr. Avalanche. Even had the Colorado state flag hanging in his home gym in Halliburton.
Things started going pretty negatively, Matt asked for a trade and I was ready for him to move on as well. That doesn’t change what he delivered in those 8 years though. One of the greatest Avs of all time.
I wish Matt the most success, other than situations where the Avalanche are involved such as tonight where I wish him and his team failure.
He should get a much deserved applause after the 14 minute mark video tribute for everything he gave to the Avalanche. Then once that ends, everyone should move on and enjoy watching one of the most exciting young teams in the sport. A team that Matt Duchene decided he didn’t want to be part of.
