I'm really not sure how I feel about it. As a Habs fan: GOOD! One less team in 3-4 years we will have to worry about, and one more team this season to give the Leafs a good run.

But jesus, if they dump a top prospect and a pick for Duchene, then lose all three of their UFAs for nothing... owie.

What if Columbus doesn't make the playoffs which is a very real possibility. Missing the playoffs while adding a rental and then losing 3 huge assets in the summer would be a gigantic punch to the gut. As long as Panarin gets more in a trade and as long as Matt Duchene is more open to re-signing than Panarian, then it could be a good move.
