In terms of goals. It might be close if Matthews can finally stay healthy.

obviously, as players, not even the biggest leaf homer can disagree that Drai is ahead of Matthews right now.

Like Jeff O’Neil said last night, he was ready to blast Matthews after the game, but Matthews scores an opportunistic goal after being completely horrible the other 59 minutes of the game. That’s kind of how Matthews is. He doesn’t accomplish anything, then all of a sudden he scores a couple. Draisaitl is all over the ice both offensively and defensively, grinding in the corners, and playing a complete game (even excelling on the pk) (while also out scoring Matthews). That just isn’t Matthews game and that’s why draisaitl is the clearly better all around player
