You know what, I‘m a lawyer making a lot of money- what do you do for a living?

And now please ask yourself again, if I‘m the idiot

I asked and the answer was still yes.

Just an FYI nobody and I mean nobody cares about your profession or income on a hockey board. Go party on Linkedin

You're all wrong. I have it on concrete authority that Drasaitl is going to the Canucks for Petterson, Hughes, Eriksson a 3rd round pick, and cash considerations to offset Eriksson's bloated salary. The trigger will be pulled by March 12th barring minor technicalities. GUARANTEED as my source has never been wrong with his advanced notice to me.

I'm a college professor. I parse the nuances of Shakespeare for a living. And no matter how long I look at the OP, I still can't figure out how you constructed a trade where Edmonton only gives up one player and STILL seems to lose the two best players in the deal.

Sounds legit.

I guess EDM wants to „win now“, so I would oder:

Dumoulin at 25%
Malkin
1rst/top prospekt

for

Draisaitl

Malkin is in the way to his old self (4P last 3 GP) and Dumo could help their defense.

I was even willing to offer Crosby if they turn down Geno.

Thoughts?

So the oilers wants to win now but trade the leagues MVP lol good stuff your on.

Draisaitl and MacKinnon have very similar playoff stats throughout their careers so I completely disagree that MacKinnon brings Edmonton closer because Draisaitl is the better and more productive player today. You have to consider contracts as well. Draisaitl has four years at 8.5 after this year, MacKinnon only has two before he can either walk or command 12 million. Trading Draisaitl for him is absolutely foolish.

You're Peter Griffin saying "a boat is a boat, but Nate MacKinnon could be anything, even a boat!". We know Draisaitl fits like a glove here. He's well liked, highly respected, and a leader on this team. There's no sense in upending the room to get a guy that's from the Maritimes, which is vastly different culturally from the prairies. Believe me, nobody gives a crap that MacKinnon is Canadian.

We have a superstar in Draisaitl. Trading him for what at best is a lateral move is absolute nonsense, never mind trading him for a guy that's five years older than he is. Hard no from me on Hedman. Our defence is fine and our prospects are good.
Mackinnon brings another look and brings another eleemant of leadership. Mackinnon over leon by a hair. Doesn't matter about contracts.... they both are going to paid somewhere at some point. Right now Mackinnon has a better contract. If the Oilers are going into a 7 games series against Vegas, mcdavid/Mackinnon gives them a better chance than mcdavid/leon..... as for Hedman thats more based on the teams individual needs. I doubt tampa would trade Hedman straight up.... as far as the Oilers IF they had a tad more depth up front they would most certainly make this trade... until the Oilers win...you csnt say their recipe is working because it isn't...

The sales say different, lets stay honest there.

Crosby to EMD is worth 50-100 Mio Dollar IMO, most likley even more.
How so? Crosby is moving to a team where he wouldn't be the big guy. Hell he wouldn't even be 2nd.

He wouldn't spike jersey sales in Edmonton like he would in say LA

Drai isnt getting moved, but Malkin+Guentzel+Dumolin+1st for Draisaitl+Neal+Russell would be closer
Pittsburgh simply doesn't have the assets.

Draisaitl is worth more than Matthews. He is arguably even worth more than McDavid with his contract. He simply can't be moved in today's world.

What, a load of mediocre assets for league MVP. Where do the Oilers sign up ?
