Edited version of a 2008 NASA time-lapse animation, from former NASA-Goddard Fellow & current JAXA planetary physicist Dr. James O'Donoghue. The purpose of the animation was to reveal images of the majority of Earth's surface that lies beneath our current oceans.

Dr. O'Donoghue has several other eye-catching & educational planetary and solar system animations/videos posted on his Twitter page and his You Tube channel.
