What about Ottawa? Fla, Col, Edm....those teams all rolled over to die.

The only difference between Jersey and Ottawa is Jersey had a stacked roster that massively underperformed, including a a player that was signed to an illegal contract. Boy, they sure deserved it more! God know that Ottawa was the team with the 1st ballot HHOF goaltender, the biggest UFA signing in year, etc etc etc etc.

We should still get a fantastic player at 6th, but the options wining would have provided were more desireable. I am still happy Ottawa didnt tank like the Avs did (losing 30 if their last 36:shakehead), but winning the lottery would have been a nice reward for a team that didnt roll over, and didnt under perform to the point of insanity like the Devils did.

Its insane to me that a team like Ottawa, that made the playoffs 11 years straight, fell on hard times, had a season from hell, made moves to improve, did improve, finished 5th last....has a higher chance of moving down in the draft than moving up. That makes no sense.
cry?

The odds are the same every year. Ottawa isn't the first to lose the lottery.

Managment "considerd" and "planned". End of the day the players gave their best effort, it was just a bad team.

How is that different from any team this year? Go ask any player on the Aves, Oilers, etc and I bet they crack you in the skull for even suggesting they tanked.

I never said they tanked. Not once. I haven't said anyone tanked. I was replying to a post suggesting the sens tanked. Instead of just commeting on one post go back and read the whole conversation, ironcially it will save you time.

It should be reiterated that if not for that 'insane underperformance', we'd be playing in the playoffs. It's not like it was done to sneak into the lottery and we only had a 3% chance of winning as it was...

I never said it happened. "Consipracy theorists" is plainly written in there. And I'm not one. I do think it would be an entertaining ramble.:)

I was joking around (sarcastic bunch I tell ya) saying that it's CLEARLY what happened. ;P

Rolston? :sarcasm:

Seriously, the INITIAL Contract was illegal....the Final Contract wasn't. Please get off your soapbox. That story is sooo last year.
