I was woundering, when the players retire, do they receive cash from a pension plan or something ? If so, how much do they receive ?

For a player to qualify for the NHL pension plan,they need to play 400 NHL games.Some of these players are not only losing their salary for this season but also losing games to qualify for a pension

Yep. I imagine guys whose last NHL game is about the 375th of their career aren't going to be too happy with Bob and Gary come retirement time.
