Grapes had some very nice words to say about the Sedins.......just ignore the little shot he took at Mats Sundin at the end.
I don't think Don can make it through the show tonight...
I think there will only be two topics tonight: the Humboldt Broncos and the Sedins. Maybe not even the Sedins.
CBC will also begin HNIC with something to honour the Broncos and their families.
I wonder if he will do his annual tribute to Vimy Ridge. Like Jussi said above, this will be a very hard segment for him to get thru tonight.
Add to that the passing of "Butterfly Boy" Jonathan Pitre who was a big Senators fan. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/a-fea...s-butterfly-boy-jonathan-pitre-dies-1.3873760
Oh man. I remember him.
Gonna be a somber one tonight
Don is having a hard time tonight, as are we all
Big props to Romanuk and Galley for keeping it together. No way I could.
Does anyone have the full segment?
Don did a beautiful job tonight as did HNIC as a whole.
Except Ron talking about giving anything for a lock of their hair... WTF
Notice he was NOT wearing a rose tonight
I just watched it again....what I posted was not accurate
Ok so I did hear that.
Yeah, he did say that...at least twice throughout the broadcast.
I caught that as well. What was that about?
It was pretty weird comment. I think he said he wanted to hold it and smell it. Emotions were high so I will give him the benefit of the doubt but it was a bit over the top for my taste.
Said (on CC) that "the Methot trade was terrible" when commenting on the state of the Senators.
Methot was not traded.
^^^^ oh brother ^^^^
I understood it to mean that he wished he had hair like that, a reference to how young and full of life those boys are/were and how tragic it all is that they died/were horribly injured at such a young age.
8 million raised already. Good job, hockey world.
Yea but how does a team give up their top pairing defenseman
