Don Cherry- Pettersson is Gretzky like but not protected enough

This was one of my suggestions after the first few games when Pettersson was lighting it up. I pondered outloud If Pettersson should regularly play with Boeser by the time the season ended, and is Roussel would be the perfect linemate for them.

I mean, Roussel was playing a shift or a two with Boeser and Horvat on Thursday night... Baertschi was a better fit with those two, but Roussel alongside Boesser and EP could work in theory?

I'd worry more about EP and Boesser getting dragged into things playing alongside Roussel though rather than being protected by his presence. I like Roussel, but chippiness and after the whistle shenanigans just follow him due to his style of play.

Petey with Roussel would be a disaster. Roussel is cheap not tough and would just encourage cheap shotting.

Lucic doesn't really fight much but could fill the role on Petey's wing.

Eriksson + 6th for Lucic @ 50% + 1st...Lucic's contract is that bad.

I knew it sucked; but I also know Erika's sucks pretty bad too. I just assumed they'd be somewhat of a wash.

Lucic is $19m left while Eriksson is $13m.

You are correct that 50% retention is too much but at least Eriksson can take a regular shift while Lucic really can't at this point and has an extra year at a higher average salary.

Maybe we get the 1st without retention.
