Dom's blender is frustrating to say the least.....and it's not that far away from Clod's blender....
Why do we get coaches who are not progressive thinkers, at all?

Because these coaches fit the Habs dinosaur mentality of :

- Building around a goalie
- Never wanting to truly rebuild , only doing patch jobs every few years in the hope of making it as the 8th seed with a "everything can happen in the playoffs mindset)
- Playing a dumb and chase defensive system even without having the right players to implement it succesfully

I said it before and i'll say it again : As long as the Habs don't change their 90's philosophy and refuse to truly rebuild they won't go anywhere anytime soon

You think he's smart enough about hockey not to buy Bargain Bin's "anything can happen once you make the playoffs" excuses??...sure doesn't seem that way...

yes the last time he had 5 yrs left to his contract, so yes Molson probably decide to keep him. This time, the difference it's that you decide if you keep him and resign him or you go in an other direction. Don't forget that he's not alone, there is CA that can say it's enough with MB

Molson does have a board to answer to. But unless I'm wrong, the bros are the majority owners. It won't change anything. Andlauer is one of the mavericks and he's not a fan of MB after the Hamilton fiasco. But in reality, the bros decide.

The board probably don't care what the team looks like, just that money comes in.

And you think that a Stanley Cup run is not profitable ?? And that he make as much money that if his team was a contender ?
Not in the NHL. Its not like the NFL. People have their team and most don't just go buy stuff because a TEAM won. It has to be their team. If you know its near impossible to win the cup then just make sure your gate driven sport packs the arena and they continue to drink your piss beer. Save some cap space each year and you don't even need ot make the playoffs if the rubes still attend. The whole point of sectioning off the NHL so everyone keep market share. Habs fans won't all of the sudden double the merch sales from a cup. And to repeat: gate driven sport.

So much of the team revenue is from arena sales, if it selles out they don't care. The proof is what they did last time they owned the team.

Otherwise we would spend everything we could to get better scouts, better development, better trainers etc. But we don't. They just want to see a steady income. Once you win a cup you usually have your team fall apart a few years later and need to rebuild, or at least retool. Its too much work. Just give enough hope and empty platitudes and feed them something that makes fans warm and fuzzy "anything can happen" "expect the unexpected"(at least its sort of in your language!!) instead of working hard to win something.

Its the middle manager peter principle. Too incompetent to promote further but got there because they were so bad at their previous jobs you had to find somewhere in the company for them to go. So put them in a place they can do the least damage and hope their blathering keeps the crew working.

Yes but for 1 round, the game that are played at the Bell Center are $$$$$. Fans buy more thing (jersey, furniture ,beer) the price of the ticket are higher, the restaurant are full, more sponsors

A single round is worth about 5-10 million dollars. Something we can't even see on a semi regular basis without a global pandemic. Thats just cap space for the maestro in at least 3 seasons..

Ducharme is ok.....Less drama with the young players with him in charge......Romanov and CC quietly getting lots of minutes and not having to worry about being in the press box for making a mistake...

The analytics that i look into have dropped a bit but not by that much since the coaching change........

Habs were analytics darlings under Julien to his credit , but man he was the worst with young players.....

Anyone knows if Cunneyworth is avalaible and if he learned some French? Can't be worst. DD has the luxury of having Drouin/Weber injured but can't create any offence. His system doesn't work with the players he's got. Way to many passes to D-men that slow the play down, giving time to opponents to regroup and defend. What is Caufield doing on the right side on the PP. Why is Staal playing that much.

Caufield played 12 minutes tonight (only Belzile played less than him).

Barely used when we needed a goal. Great stuff.

His in-game decisions are very questionable...

Doesn't seem to have a good read on his players, nor has the team been looking improved individually or collectively.

He prefers playing Staal than KK. We are likely not winning anything with this team, he should play KK big shifts till the end of the season. We should call Poehling as well.

Poehling is injured. He's getting wrist surgery.

Huge disappointment, immense!! I thought that guy knew what he was doing, I've never hated a coach more, I'm not even being dramatic, the team is boring and sucks since he's taken over, I want him out yesterday. He'll have the playoffs to change our minds I guess.

He seemed to have them play a more offense minded style when he took over. Not sure what happened to that.
