Tampa is obviously set at the top 3 of our dmen. Hedman is a superstar, Stralman is a legit top pair guy, and Sergachev is a very good player as well.

However our 4th best dman at the moment is Girardi, a good #5 guy but not suited to be the 4th best on his team.

Does Tampa have the biggest 3-4 dropoff in the league?

Nah sergy is fine defensively. Girardi too he just provides no offense.

Koekkoek provides enough offense to make up for his lack of defense and be a solid 5/6 guy.

Coburn Dotchin and Sustr... why

Really looking at sergachev, he looks like he will good offensively but looks out of position when I see him play..in his own end.

Girardi looks Polak slow.

Nah Girardi isn't Polak slow. He's decent enough skater.

Sergachev is the type of defender who doesn't look like he's in position but makes the right plays. A bit like Anton Stralman but he will need a lot of work to get to stralmans level defensively.

It's a problem for virtually all teams finding more than competent # 5, 6, 7. Leafs fan seem to be the worse driving themselves crazy knowing their top 5 are OK but thinking the Polak/Carrick is the downfall of the team.

I don't know about between 3 to 4, but they probably have one of the weaker 3-6 defensemen among contenders. Sergachev is good but there's a big drop to him from Stralman too and a big one from Hedman to Stralman. Having Hedman playing big minutes can mask a lot of the depth issues, but if they should probably be looking at every avenue to add a top 4 defenseman

Rangers (“regulars”)
McD
Shatty
Skjei (he’ll bounce back)

Staal
Holden
Smith
Kampfer

Deangelo and Pionk have both been great but they’re not regulars just yet. That’s a pretty good gap if Skjei does bounce back

Sergachev is awful at defense. He will get exposed in the playoffs.

I really do believe Tampa is going to push very hard to add a Dman before the deadline.

Serg got dummied by the Oilers (of all teams) every shift he was on the ice when they played. Was funny how easily he'd get walked. Hard to think he's fine defensively lol .. Unless that was a one-off game.

Canucks beat that. One top pairing dman one upper middle pair one border line middle pair and the rest bottom pair or injury replacement guys forced to play almost every game

Going off of TOI... Washington's goes like this:

Carlson -> Orlov -> Niskanen -> Orpik (!)

Therefore, the correct answer to this poll is a strong no.
