Altough the article is a good read it left out a few details that I bothered checking up. Also 3 more games were played since that article was written. So here's a quick summary of what the article says plus some added stuff :
16 years old records in the Q :
Normand Dupont 125 pts in 70 games (1973-1974)
Mike Bossy 70 goals in 68 games (1973-1974)
Denis Savard 79 assists in 72 games (1977-1978)
Crosby is scoring at 1.00 goal/game;1.21 assist/game;2.21pts/game
He has 43 goals;52 assists;95 pts in 43 games
He's on pace to finish the season at 59 goals;71assists;130pts in 59 games (maximum number of games possible if he stays healthy or isn't suspended)
At his current pace he would have got 69 goals;83assists;152pts in 69 games if he had not gone to the WJC (he missed one game just before he left for the WJC due to a small injury). He would have broken both Savard's and Dupont's assists and points records while being 1 goal short of tying one of the greatest goal scorer of all time.
Right now I think Bossy's goal scoring record is out of reach but Savard's and Dupont's records are definately reachable and beatable.
Just awesome...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY/S MIKE and DENIS
Except Bossy scored some of these goals as a 17 year old (born jan 22/57) and Savard must have had a lot of these assists as a 17 year old (born Feb 4/61, HAPPY BIRTHDAY) Sid will turn 16 and 1/2 this week!
I know these are only numbers but nobody will compare Sid next season 04/05 to these guys in their "16 year old season" even though that would be closer (very, very slightly agewise)
Have to sign this one
