No horse in this race, but Kuch has an entire team to support him. McDavid only has Drai. You might be the only person here that thinks one exceptional player is better than having an entire very good team.
Well Tampa have Stamkos - why whole team didnt supports him? Or Palat or whatever your mythical guy from that team? Why they supports only Kuch?
Or can we say that Kucherov makes them better , makes them Cup contenders and one of the best postseason teams last decade ?
Anyone would say second opinion - Best Playoff performer makes his team better and that is what supposed to be when we talk about any other player in league but when we talk about Kuch мы McD - people just starts to lose their logic. Kucherov have ability to score postseason - better than anyone else make his team better using his IQ. He elevate his mind , or IQ or whatever, MacD at postseason relying moslty on himself didn realizing ways to use teammates better, especially teammate like Drai
NHL teams can shut down any player in league if he relies only on individual skillset.
it is a merit Kucherov that he is using his mind doesnt let shut himself off and makes the team better . McD just have not such skills. He cannt elevate own game - he cant use his teammates better to perform. Put him on Tampa and he would have effort like Kuch did because he just havent such skills. He would rush same runs hoping to outrun whole team
Always people claimed that any top player have at least 1 elite player to support him

but somehow it wouldnt work for Mac D and Kucherov just havent elite teammate who close to anyone from those pairings, not Drai or Malkin etc.
Stamkos to be honest is passenger last years and he didnt even played when they won SCF
