I kind of agree with this except for one thing, Leonsis is the only owner, he owns the arena, he owns three other sports teams, this is HIS money. It's different for a team like the Rangers, Leafs or the Flyers who are owned by companies and have unlimited cash flow.

So bottom line, I would pay him the 5 mil but not for longer than 2 years because by year 3 he will be gone, just like all NHL coaches are after six or seven years, and I don't want to pay two coaches.

Might of read an older article, but just looked to see he signed a contract for three years making 18-million. I know if the Hawks aren't successful, and unless Chicago doesn't pay up, he'll likely take a better offer elsewhere.
