Okay, so the Jets just gave up 6 in 2, that was just as much at even strength as the Leafs through 2 games, why no thread about them? Because 3 game samples are stupid. Matthews is on ice for over 164 points right now, that gonna continue too?

As I said who's really going by a 3 game sample size, the defense isn't good, it's bad and it has been bad, and nothing has been done for it.
This by a team who's getting ready for a Cup run.

No one is basing this on a three game sample. This is a common theme to their team.

yeah forwards need to be much better, defense needs to be a bit better, a lot of new faces and its early im sure we can be better not not a powerhouse back there ofc.

Just throw out the first 20 games. They are always a tire fire. Especially for teams that moved around a lot of bodies in the offseason.

Now come games 35-45, anything you see happening you should probably get used to. Good or horrific.

Yeah just look through the thread. The defense will get better, and the offence will get worse, these reactionary threads are horrible both ways. If this continues 15 games in, then there is absolutely a problem. We still don’t have Nylander which should improve the shots against when he comes back

Last year, Toronto was 12th in goals allowed, which is way better than I thought.

Who did they lose from last year's defense? They weren't THIS bad on a nightly basis.

Carrick and Polak. Carrick had good possession numbers but looked bad. Polak was just flat out bad, could hit guys but that's about it.

You noted our GA last year. We started last year with 2 track meets, 7-2, and 8-5. Gave up 6 goals to New Jersey in game 4. Something something small sample, and 2 games of horrific goaltending.

Once again, this is not a reactionary thread. This is proof of what EVERYONE outside of Toronto has said, they need to fix their defense, it's bad. It's not even a hate thread, if they fixed their defense, they would be cup contenders. If they don't they won't be.

But hey, if you think it's sufficient, all the more to you.

How are the Jets part of your rebuttal?

I think the jets would have loved to start the season at home against Ottawa & Montreal rather than on the road against St. Louis and Dallas.
