Watch a lot of their games, they remind me of a junior team. Blown assignments all over the ice.

Hard to judge a defence when their forwards are allergic to their assignments though.

As a whole the team is poor defensively. That said, Reilly is good. The rest....eesh.

meh we've allowed 30 shots a game average, id argue the goaltending is the problem. I'm sure we have given up some prime scoring chances but for the most part a lot of the shots are outside shots imo.

We still need to clean it up, we could be much better.

Leafs defense has kept them out of the second round of the playoffs in the past. They won't be a cup contender until they fix it. Their defense doesn't need to be great to win a cup, just average-above average (among playoff teams).

A lot of it is on Babcock IMO. The fact that this team STILL can’t break out, after it being their number 1 weakness last year, is astonishing.

The stretch pass breakout doesn’t work Babs. Why not try having one of your star players skate it out, or go back to the good ole’ time tested chip off the glass.

Someone on the IM board suggested a trade based around Nick Leddy and Nylander and honestly that might not be the worst idea in the world and be a win/win for both teams. Leafs need D badly, Isles have a large surplus of D in their system who are going to be on the varsity soon and the team could use a very good young forward.
