How awesome would it be if he became our next Gaudreau? Every year there’s a Kucherov, Kaprisov, Gaudreau, there’s a lot to like about the skill of this kid.

In the QMJHL. Also playing with the 2020 #1 projected pick, so that should help his stock for sure.

But he's already been drafted. All that will do is make people say he's a product of Lafreiener

And we are supposed to care what people say why?

He's already looked really skilled in the prospects camps/games/preseason. For a late round pick it's definitely looking like a good gamble.

Did I say you're supposed to care?

Lafrenier might help him produce offensively, but that's not a bad thing since he has the skillset and tools to capitalize. It could open up opportunities for him going forward that might have not been there had he played on a scrub line. It might get his foot in the door to play top minutes in the AHL when he turns pro. He could pick up good habits on where he needs to position himself in order to play with talent.

Good players also often pick up great habits playing with great players. Would Alex DeBrincat have thrown up a 28G, 52pt rookie season as a 19/20 year old without his time spent with McDavid in junior?

On that note, here's a players tribute article by Brad Marchand. Skip ahead to the bit on Patrice Bergeron.

There is no room

He will have to fight Bennett for the 4th line

From all the clips I have watched Lil Z doesn't play with Alexi, so he has 15 points in 8 games playing away from Alexis (aside from the PP). The clips in mention are Z's hatty and Alexi's 4 point game. Fairly certain they are 1LW and 2LW or something like that.

That's even more impressive if he is able to put up all these points away from Alexis. Hope he can keep it up and have a solid 100 point campaign. Still think he is a while away though, he's fairly small. He isn't bust small like Phillips though.

Any clue which one is which? If zavgorodny is producing like this with 2nd line minutes and can sustain it, that would he very impressive growth from last year. As I said, this kid could have a kucherov lite ceiling, and we badly need good right shot prospects (I'd assume if he made the nhl he would be converted to the rw as we have far more depth on the left side). Still a long time to go, but we need to hope right?

10 goals, 26 points in 15 games.

Leading his team in points as an 18 year old.

Could be the biggest steal in the draft someday. Wow.
