In line based on average of what the other top young WR have been getting at $24 mill AAV.

At his age, he should make all of it. Guy came out as a true Junior, so 3 years into the NFL he turns 24 this season. Locked up until the year he turns 28.

Could the Hawks have moved him for a 1st rounder like Tenn did with Brown? Sure. But, the hit/miss rate on WR is not a slam dunk despite the sheer quantity of WR coming out in the draft each season.

In Metcalf's year, the hits/misses up until he got draft were:
Hits: Deebo, AJ Brown,
Misses: Hollywood Brown (hasn't lived up to his hype yet imo), Harry was a miss in NE, Whiteside, Isabella, Campbell (injuries)
Hardman for KC, has been fine, but numbers wise, 1,800 receiving yards in 3 seasons on a potent KC offense seems low for a guy who dressed for every game. Clearly not a WR1 in the future.

Of the 8 WR taken before DK, 2 hard WR1. Brown and Hardman are fine WR. Other 4, down the depth chart.

Hawks are eating some dead cap this season on Wilson and Wagner. Their top 4 cap hits this season are at $9 and 10 mill range in Adams, Lockett, Gabe jackson and Poona Ford.

He’ll get a new deal in 2 years.
2 years into his deal he will. Spotrac has his cap hits over the next 4 seasons as $8.8 ($7.8 mill of his SB applies this season), $13.7, $24.5, $29.5 milll. Probably ends up getting that $29.5 mill year adjusted with a new deal.
