This is the best LL team I can recall.

Chicago's Big 3 on the defense might not be the best in the league, but it's the sexiest.

Sorry for the delay in getting to comments, here's a brief overview as I see it...

Coaching:
Small Edge Chicago, both coaches seem to fit their teams fairly well, although I think Babcock would take issue with Tim Kerr on a 3rd line as he is not at all a two-way player.

Goaltending: Hall > Tretiak, Edge Toronto, but not a large one

Defense: About even
2 great top pairings, which I have as about equal
Kelly < Bourque
Stevens > Quackenbush

2nd pairings seem about even as well, with Conacher and Boucher being about the same tier, and same for goes for Wilson and Gardiner. I might give a very small edge to Toronto here.

I would again call the 3rd pairing about even with Nielson and Baun similar, I might give a small edge to Chicago here for Subban over Letang.

Forwards: I have Chicago with a fairly significant edge here...
1st Lines: Edge Toronto
Schmidt < Yzerman
Lafleur > Selanne (this is the largest difference of the 3)
Elias < Shanahan

2nd Lines: Large edge Chicago, with an advantage at all 3 positions
Malone > Stastny
Schriner >> Barber
Dillon > Gartner

3rd Lines: Large edge Chicago
ES Vs.X
Marchand: 55*
Provost: 52
Propp: 47
Poulin: 42
Kerr: 42

*Updated to include 2018-19 season

Neil Colville does not have an ES vs. X score available, and his 7 yr Vs.X score of 72.1 underrates him due to time lost to War and him switching to D after coming back. Colville does have 6 full seasons at forward though. If you take his 6th best season score of 61, and use that for his 7th season score instead of the 32 he got playing defense, his 7yr Vs.X increases to 76.1. Someone please check me on this, but I think a very rough way to try to determine ES Vs.X is to multiply by 70%, which would give a score of about 53.

Even if Colville's score is lower than the above, Chicago has a clear edge in ES scoring.

As far as defensive play is concerned Chicago has the edge there too. Provost is the best defensive player of the group, followed by Poulin, I have Propp, Colville, and Marchand all about the same, and then Kerr WAY below anyone as likely one of the worst defensive players in the draft.

LL built a good team this year, but Chicago's large advantage up front will be too much to overcome.

Ironically, Babcock mostly used JVR on the third line when he actually had the horses to do that (as in, not the PA Parenteau year). Now, Kerr isn't the JVR of the ATD - that'd be more someone like Leclair or Robitaille, but I don't think he insists on grinding bottom sixes - it's more making sure every line has a babysitter.
